Day 45-53 ... eeps

I've been clearly not awesome at blogging this month over all. Maybe because I have missed @ least 1 day a week and sometimes 2. That is also frustrating. Most of the times have been because of my knees. They are not awesome and they hurt a little just to squat down. Doing hard workouts on carpeted cement is not good. So even when I do the workouts they arent 100% because my knees hurt. So i'm going to try and find a gym mat, one thicker than a yoga mat, that i can workout on so my knees will stop hurting. I didnt workout the last 2 days bc i am sick. Although working out does help getting over a cold so i bucked up and did Max Recovery today. Ya know, the one where i said we did 1/4th of and then just watched the rest? Well i finished half of it today and Im sure i could have finished it all but had to go to work.

Next week is the last week and it is so true that this program WILL get you fit and ripped real quick, in 60 days. If i would have done every day I would have a much smaller waist for sure. But Im not trippin about that. So because I missed, what I think is a lot, workouts I'm going to do month 2 again. I figured I would just start the program over but I want to do this month again so I can do it all the way through and better. Oh yes. I'll prob keep blogging through next month as well.

Day 41, 43 & 44 ... nothing

Sooo not too stoked about the fact that I havent worked out since friday. Saturday I woke up and my knees hurt so I gave muyself 2 days off. Yesterday I worked which I usually dont on mondays and I didnt want to wake up early bc I havent gotten 8 hours of sleep the whole weekend and then this morning i was 245 and said nope. So Im going to get my butt kicked tomorrow. I kinda feel blah so Im ready to workout tomorow. Still feelin good though but man working out feels so much better.

Day 40!!!!!

Wow I felt so much stronger today! And that whole hunger thing got fixed, at least for today. Ha.

I could do a lot more this time than I could monday. I have a video as well but will upload later.

Tomorow is a workout by myself so we'll see how that works out for me.eek!

Day 39 ... more like day sorry Shaun T, maybe next week

Well today was Max Recovery day.

It came. And went. And we spent about 30 of the 47 minutes on the floor watching the workout instead of doing the workout. Why? We couldnt. We seriously couldnt. Cecie and I layed there for the last 30 minutes watching the workout. It is insane. And its "recovery" day. Hahahaha Our bodies were shaking and we couldnt even hold ourselves up for the plank workout. We tried, we really did.

Sorry Shaun T we couldnt hang today. Hopefully next week we will be able to do half of it at least.

Day 38 ....

I have nothing to say ... the video says it ... i will post it later due to the fact I dont have a working computer. I think I died today. Ha.

Day 37 ... more like day 2

What.the.sam? As LaTasha Robinson would say.

It feels like we havent done ANYTHING! Like we are starting from the very beginning at day 1. We got beat up again today. Seriously. Looking back at the first months workout I'm thinking, "Compared to this THAT is nothin. i could rock the casbaugh in last months workouts!"

It's an hour long now and its all max interval training so we are oushing as hard as we can through moves that are extremely hard for an entire hour. I think we spent about 10 out of the 60 minutes on the floor. We are becoming good friends with my livingroom floor.

I'm very sure now that the knee pain I'm having is due to the floor we are working on. Cement covered with carpet. C's knees started hurting today as well. Not awesome. Gotta find some workout pads to throw on the floor or we are going to be in some major pain.

Well, although its insane, we are seeing changes in our body and I have a feeling this month is going to produce rapid change due to the insanity we are doing. True.

I have had to decrease my insulin A LOT and I'm not even taking insulin for the food I eat so that means i can decrease my long acting insulin more. Thats exciting. Our bodies are genius' because they were build by a genius.

Heres to rocking life!

Day 36 Fit Test and First day of what-the-frick!

So left my fit test results at home and dont have them to type here. They pretty much stayed the same and didn't make any big jumps like last time.

Today was horrid. Mostly because I was by myself which is half my fault b/c I didnt wake up until 7:45 and we were supposed to start at 7:00. I think I did only half of the workout. I went through the whole thing, no doubt, but I stopped so many times I think I physically only did half of it. It was just as hard as the first day. So hopefully just like the first month I/we will see improvements on how the workouts arent as hard as the first time because our bodies will be getting stronger.

My knees are hurting anytime I bend them. It stinks. I think its because we are doing the workout on carpet that is on cement. No bueno. Will prob have to get a mat because they are really really sore.

Today was lame because I am not fit enough to do the workout all the way. Booo. But, here's to getting stronger to do it better at the end of the month!

Day 34 final day of recovery week

It is frustrating to have to get back in shape from being sooooo out of it and have never had to actually work at being in shape before. I think thats the weirdest part about this process is the fact that I have never had to work at it per se. Obviously I did have to work at it but it was just engrained in my life through playing sports all the time. But now its like, uh why am I doing this again? Oh yeah, the end result is to be healthy and fit, not to get better at my sport or run faster or push harder to throw farther. The goal is totally different. Working out for the purpose of getting better at my sport obvioulsy made me fit but being fit wasnt the goal, even though kind of it was. But getting better at my sport was the main goal but fitness was as outcome as well.

Not ganna lie Im really going to enjoy my day off tomorrow because monday is the fit test aaand an hour workout! Aaaaaah! So thats like an hour and a half!

I really like feeling stronger and stronger. I used to be really stong doing my various sports plus being a lifegurd and swimming. I havent felt strong in a while. So Im likin this!

Day 33 I think I burned my face off

We rocked it today and we got rocked as well. Its funny because whe know when the pain part is coming and our comments make it clear that we are getting ready mentally to get our faces burnt off. For real though. Our muscles burn so much! Tomorrow is our last day of this workout. Im getting nervous because we are ganna get whooped on monday. We are prepared but whooped none the less!

Day 31 We yelled through the burn

For the first time today we did the workout using our own music and choosing the no option for the insanity music. Of course it was my music :) We all agreed it was better and actually more motivating. How can hip hop not motivate you to push harder!?

It was a really good effort by all of us today. We decided to push through the last 2 sets and oooooooh wow. Cecie and I were yelling through it as our muscles were BURNING! Wowza it felt good and we all tell we are getting stronger.

I like being fit through hard work. Its true.

Day 30! Half way there!

I'm really diggin this workout. It feels really really good. I'm sweatin buckets!

There are two sets when we are really feelin the burn and they are both at the end of the workout. The first one is a balancing technique. We stand on one leg and then with the other we bring our knee up then go back down touching our toes to the floor doing it for 30seconds. Then we bring the same knee up and pluse it without touching the floor for 30 seconds and then we keep our knee in the air and extend our leg out infront of us for another 30. Duh-hang it burns so good.

Then right after that we get in a squat position and do 5 different arm movements. They are actually the same ones my mom made us do when she coached volleyball and softball. With straight arms pat down, foward then back, touch fingers above head, and circles fowards and circles backwards.

That.will.get.ya.

My rock hard calves are back! I loooove them. When now reminds me of a person to remain nameless from highschool, she knows who she is, who said referring to a guy she was interested in "well he has nice calves" hahaha i just remembered that. You know who you are!

Yay for working out tomorrow. 4 days left until our bodies get beat up again but feelin grrrrrreat!

Day 29 back at it and a new workout!

Ok, so I have been MIA since last week. I only worked out 3 days last week because my blood sugars were being dumb and I went back on shots b/c I dont want a 5th appendage. Sooooo GAME ON!

We started core balance and recovery week. We only do this workout for the 5th week and we do it every day which is the only time we repeat any work out. I was sweating buckets because its working our muscles. We are doing slower balancing excersizes instead of fast cardio ones. I really like it. I could do this workout every day but week number 6 will come and we will certainly get our butts kicked! Here is a video for today. p.s. friday was our last pure cardio and cardio abs work out and I missed it. I acutally wanted to get rocked by it one last time since we wont be doing it for 6 more weeks. Oh well.

Day 22 its interesting

Sometimes I feel a bit unstable in my desire to work out. Ha. One day its, yes im excited and the next day, nooooo please I dont want to get out of bed. Dont make me. And then I make myself get up.

Today was the noooooo dont make me. I did not want to do it today. We did Pure cardio so it was good to get in good cardio. It felt good afterwards but man at the beginning I was not feelin it.

I was sweating so much more as well like the other day.

Im glad I have other people teling me they can see me changing bc I.dont feel it at all. I feel really heavy and of course its because of the muscle gained. Im also frustrated at times because I already want to be able to push through the entire workout with very few stops. But helloooooo, Katrina, you jusy started your 4th week. So chill.

I watched next weeks workout. We do the same workout every day. Im really excite for it. Them I watched the workouts starting week 6....

... We are going to die.

Im not kidding. We do max interval training ..... FOR AN HOUR! Thats 20 minutes longer than we are doing now. So, death is around the corner and its going to feel great! Im ready for different workouts.

Day 20 felt a lot better

Its crazy how one day can go from that was so hard and I was really dragging to that was a good day and it felt way better than the day before. That was today. Although, today I was sweating more than I have as of yet. My friend made a comment on it. I was literally dripping for 3/4ths of the workout and for a couple minutes after. But I figure the stronger I get the more I will sweat because the harder I can work. So I guess I worked really hard today. ha, like every day.

Its kind of interrsting that ive only lost 2 pounds. Like I said before its not necessarily about what I weigh but how fit I am. But I figured I would at least be down 6 pounds by now. Oh well, not worried about it because I can see the change inch wise so its all good.

I think Im going to go to the gym tomorrow and lift. I miss lifitng, so.I shall do that.

It was funny today. At the end of our workout all 4 of us plopped down in a chair and sat for a good 15 minutes. That hasnt happened so far. Haha we were so done.

Day 19 Heavy Legs

It will never get easier. Ever!

My legs were sooooo heavy today. They are getting bigger because of muscle. It was prob the hardest workout in regards to being able to move fast because fast was not in my legs' vocabulary today. And they are feelin the burn like no other! I want to get them really stong so I can push through more reps harder. Aaah I love working out and feelin good. Now I just have to get this eating thing down because Im still not getting very hungry. So kinda force feeding which is annoying but I have to fuel my body.

Figured out that I have to keep my pump on while I'm working out. I used to be able to take it off and just put it back on when I was done but not anymore. Im going back on shots again anyway next week so it wont be a problem any more.

Oooooo I'm excited for tomorrow! Finishing up my 3rd week! Weeeeeeee

Day 18 Wow. already 18 days

Time flies. For real. I can't believe it's day 18 and we are almost done with our third week. Life is going by pretty fast these days.

If anyone wants to get it really good shape and can handle extremely hard workouts, get Insanity. All you need is your body. No weights or anything.

I'm still enjoying it even though 6:30am is quiet early but it helps me get 8 hours of sleep because I know if I dont, it will feel horrible while working out.

I still can't do the deep muscle stretchws without stopping and walking it off. It burrrrrns! So we do 16 squats in the middle of the workout then we go down in the squat position and hold it for like 45 seconds and then we do these little pump things where we barely go up but come back down its fast ... like pulsing and we are in complete squat position. Once we do the 16 squats and go down and hold it, after 5 seconds I'm dunzo or i will fall on the ground because my legs shake so bad. But I walk it off then get back at it. There is a lot of burning but its good and makes my muscles stronger. I cant wait until i have really stong muscles and can power through the workouts. That will be fun!

Am I insane?

Day 17 Feel the burn

My quads and calves were burning like they were on fire today. We did pure cardio and cardio abs. It will never get easier. But I like it! I do not like missing a day. I felt that in the workout. I think i pushed myself harder today though and thats why i had to take longer breaks to breathe and let the burning subside for a little bit. I pushed myself so hard loud noises were coming from my mouth. But at the end of each workout I think, "man I could have pushed harder" maybe because it feels so relieving to stop, ha.

Cardio abs are hard bc my core isnt strong. I want to do them more because the core of the body is most important.

I'm pretty tired. Having really high rebound bloodsugars that make me feel like poo. I'm starting to think the glucosamine in my recovery drink has something to do with it. So i bought a little bit of bulk soy protein tonight to see what its like after my workout with noe glucosamine. All I know is that I cant stand going from a perfectly normal 95 blood sugar before the workout to 135 after the workout and then 300 an hour and a half after the workout is over. It really sucks

Day 16 Had to pass on this one

Today was slightly annoying because I couldn't participate. I've been having to pay really close attention to my night time/during the middle of the night/morning blood sugars because for some reason my blood sugars plummit during the night. I have had some scary lows in the morning even after eating granola bars (yes bars, plural) AND decreasing my insulin during the night time.

Well last night I tried something different and ate a small meal that consisted of only one carb, a piece of toast, and eggs with turkey bacon. I also turned down my insulin. I was high at 4:30am and still was when 6:30 came around. I didnt want to make it worse so I didnt even do it today.

I'm excited for tomorrow though. Pure cardio and cardio abs. I freaking love this!

Day 15 Fitness Test #2

I get really excited and greatly enjoy how hard work pays off. Today during the fitness test I could feel how much stronger my body was and I much more I could push myself to get as many reps done in the minute alotted. We were totally created for good works and keeping ourselves healthy is a really good work. Like I said before, I haven't had too big of an issue with the food side but I certainly did need some improvement. It just feels good to feel good and now I remember how addicting feeling good feels. Its not about how I have to look to fit into this or that but its about feeling good and healthy and loving myself and you loving yourself. It feels good to be getting my body back! Week 2 Results: Waist: 41.5 in Chest: 40.5 Fit Test Results: 1. Switch Kicks: 80 (20 less than day 1) 2. Power Jacks: 35 (4 more than day 1) 3. Power Knees: 84 (24 more than day 1) 4. Power Jumps: 24 (22 more than day 1) 5. Globe Jumps: 8 (2 more than day 1) 6. Suicide Jumps: 12 (3 more than day 1) 7. Push-Up Jacks: 16 (6 more than day 1) 8. Low Plank Oblique: 40 (11 more than day 1) Diggin my improvement!

Day 13 First Hour Long Workout

Today felt good.

I pushed through the tightness on my left leg. Turns out its not pulled or anything just really tight because the same thing happened to my right leg today. So I pushed hard through it and they both got loose as I was working out.

I was not alone. Thank you, Jesus. Felt so good to just do cardio. It's still a killer but really good. At the end i just layed on the floor and sucked air for 30 seconds and then rolled around for a couple more. Ha. I love that feeling.

I really really like cardio abs. I might do them more than it is on the schedule because my core is so weak. That has always been my problem and our core is very important to have strong so i'm going to hit that up more.

Really glad I get a break tomorrow. I'm going to chill and drink lots of water and rest rest rest. Sleep is so important for recovery.

I can tell a good difference in my arms and I'm really liking it. I'm rocking the push ups *cough* girl style *cough* but thats ok not hatin on myself. I'm super compeditive and i decided before we all started i wasnt going to be compeditive with anyone but myself because then I will do the best I can do for myself and not mess with that nonsense. So thats been something new and I really like it.

Well, way better day than yesterday and I think having friends back at it was a big help.

Day 12 ... the worst day so far

Today was horrible.

For more than one reason. Yesterday I didnt eat as well or as much as I should have to fuel my body. i didnt drink enough water. I'm gaining muscle so I'm heavier (which is fine bc its not about weight) and that means I had a hardwr time picking myself up and moving myself around. I did the workout alone and I hated it, suuuuuucks. And the calf thing is getting in the way.

I dont even think I finished one set all the way through today.

Bummer post today. Wasn't awesome. Not ganna lie.

Tomorrow is cardio though so I'm glad because I won't be working my muscles so much/hard.

Day 11 every thursday cardio recovery

I'm really tired. I think it's just because I jolted my body into hardcore workouts after a very long lul of nothing. But that's ok. I feel good, just tired. I also think I slightly pulled the tendon or legament or muscle that is right under my left calf. My calf doesnt hurt at all but right below it. So yesterday, eventhough I did work my hardest it still wasnt my hardest because I didnt want to make it worse. So I'm unfortunately going light on it. I did not want to get up today. At.all. I knew it was only stretching but I really didnt want to do it. Buuuuuut I did because I know stretching is one of the most important things next to good form. Last night i was so thirsty aka dehydrated that i drank 64 oz of water in 2 hours. I dont think I've ever done that before. Hydrating with water is so important. I'm kind of having a problem eating as well. I dont get hungry after i do any kind of working out/athletic activity so I pretty much have to make myself eat breakfast and lunch. Around dinner time and right before bed is when I get crazy hungry. Bad timing, thats for sure. It is interesing though how my hunger and blood sugars are corralating. The majority of the past 16 years I have had issues with low blood sugars in the night and morning. I have had a lot of lows in the morning the past recent months. Maybe because I'm getting so hungry at night which means my metabolism and my body is working harder to burn calories so its affecting my blood sugars. Dont know if its true but it sound like it would be right. Well, I really like my legs being stronger and I so enjoy how working out makes me feel over all.... tomorrow plyo something .... Saturday....hell X2 Lets get it.

Day 9 Plyo Cardio and soooo tired

We started @ 6:30am thos morning. I went to sleep at 10:30 last night and woke up fresh and ready to go. I really like sleeping, it makes my body feel better.

The girls walked in the door looking reeeeal tired. They were. Today was pretty hard eventhough we have done this workout 3 other times. I can do the warm up faster and my lower body is getting stronger. My feet are still burning and its still annoying.

I was on the ground, on my face quite a bit today breathing really hard after pushups and jump up and backs. Couldnt finish because my muscles were so tired.

I could take a 3 hour nap right now but i cant because I'm at work. I'm soooo tired but feel good. I'm glad we dont workout until tomorrow evening. But tomorrow is the hardest day ... Pure Cardio. 20 min straight of different plyo excersizes. That seems like way too much work right now. Its ok because looking at tomorrow with todays grace doesnt work.

Day 8

It was hard. I was really tired today. My feet are still burning and I'm having to stop and take breaks because of the pain. I have a high pain tolerance and it is lame. Tired. Early to bed early to rise. 6:30am workout tomorrow. I feel really good though. I'm getting my body back!

Day 6 not as easy as I thought

I thought today was going to be easier because of how hard yesterday was. I forget that we are essentially doing muscle confusion, therefore no day will be any kind of easy. My strength will increase and i will be able to do the workouts with better form and with less stops but never easier. It's not like running where you can go on a nice jog and use the same muscle groups. We are changing the muscle groups everyday. So this will never be easy. But it will be great and I will be and already am feelin great. Although its hard work, I love it. I really enjoy working hard.

Tomorrow I have the day off. I might go for a light jog or something though, even though I prob should rest my body. Stretching is a great idea. Hmmm. We'll see.

Day 5 Pure Cardi-oh-my-wow.

Well, I was right. That was brutal. I haven't had to stop and take a couple breaths in the 4 days combined as much as I did today. Towards the end I couldn't even do some of the reps completely because I couldn't hold myself up for long enough with my arms and legs. Specifically the power pushups (I think that's what they are called). As you go down to do a pushup you spread your legs out like you are doing a jumping jack. Yeah, I didn't do the push up part. I can't even do 15 regular push-ups. I've never had a strong upper body. My legs is where well over majority of my strength is. When I had batting lessons when I was younger my coach would make me do 300 pushups before I could start my session. That took me like 25-30 minutes to do those.

We did our normal "warm up" and then did our stretching ... theeeeen we did cardio for 20 minutes straight, no stopping (well only when we couldnt physically do it and had to take a 10 second break). Each minute we did a different excersize, so we were mixing up which muscles we were hitting. Which is super tiresome because you aren't focusing on one area you are hitting them all so your whole body is like aaaaaaaah! haha even at the end of this one Shaun T said "this shhh** is bananas." haha yes, yes it was. I think the 3 of us were on the floor at the very end, at least for like 15 seconds.

I told one of my housemates that she should join us one day because she has been doing a video for over a couple months now and she could do it since she's been working out. hahahaha She said that when she heard the noises that were coming from me during the workout she said noooo thank you. It just feels good to get a good yell or grunt out when you are feelin the burn. And I did plenty of those today.

It's still insane. No joke.

Day 4 Cardio Recovery Feels Nothing Like Recovery

So, because I watched the cardio recovery dvd yesterday I thought that it was going to be a nice relaxing stretch. Well, I was wrong. In about 5 minutes I had sweat dripping from my forehead down my face and all I was doing was "stretching." We weren't jumping up and down or doing any high knees but my legs were buring more than the prior 3 days. I remember saying, "Seriously, Shaun T?" And i heard someone else say, "this is insane." Yes, yes it is.

Tomorrow is something like Cardio-Insane-I-will-make-you-cry-like-a-baby .... or something like that. All i know is its all cardio.

I'm finding that I still know how to finish strong in the last 5 minutes of the workout. I'd say thats my favorite part because all you have is 5 minutes left to drain yourself and push every ounce of enery you have out, "leaving it all on the field" per se.

I'm ready for tomorrow. But I'm not ganna like, I know I'm ganna get rocked.

Day 3 Push Until You Burn So Bad You Drop to the Floor and Can't Get Up for 30 Seconds

Wow.

So glad we didn't (well we couldn't b/c I didn't get off work until 8am today) wake up early to do our workout. We did it at 6pm tonight.

Tomorrow is Cardio Recovery so it's really slow and basically a lot of stretching. So today I thought it would be a great idea to make sure I push myself as hard as I could. I was on the ground with my body burning, heart racing and breaths sounding like I was trying to suck oxygen in as I was gasping. Man did it feel good! Although for some reason my feet were burning so bad I had to stop a couple times. That was weird and annoying. I can already see change in my arms. And seriously it feel like I'm sportin a 6 pack under my innertube. Haha. Oh how I have missed workouts like these. I'm glad I'm back at it and not alone. I know that I could not do these workouts alone. At all. But, the last week I will have to because my friends will be off on their trips traveling this amazing world and giving away love like multi-billionares could give away pennies. So I can't hate. But I'll be way more fit so I'm sure I'll be able to make it work.

So Insanity also comes with a meal plan. Which is nuts. I mean it's good food and I'm eating right (which hasn't ever been an issue) and have added a lot more protien to my diet. But these folks are wantin me to eat FIVE full meals a day! ... WHAT! Man, I'm 5'4". I am not some linebacker who can consume uber amounts of food. I eat three times a day and I'm full! I can eat 2 snacks in the day but there is no way I'm going to be stuffing my stomach full and feel full and gross all day long. Nope.

In other news, I'm peeing like a racehorse. Like 15 times a day. Since I sweat like a banchee I'm drinking like 88 plus ounces of water because I refuse to get dehydrated. Another big NOPE.

Day 2 It really is insane.

I woke up at 5:30am to go get Cecie after waking up 3 different times during the night. Lame. But I was wide awake so that was good and she was too.

During the day yesterday I wondered if I worked hard enough b/c I wasnt sore or achy. Well, then came the night. My back muscles were the ones that were aching most and my legs a bit as well. Allison was a champ and although thoughts of not coming this morning floated around in her little head last night, b/c it is tiring at first, I told her it was ok and that she would just be jealous when I was rockin being in shape. Haha, I would. ... oh, she came.

It really is insane and I totally got beat up. I can't wait to get my muscles stronge though so that I will be able to push myself harder. I had to take a break during reps because my legs were burning. Is it sick in the head that I genuinely enjoy the burning of my muscles to the point where I'm acutally excited for them to get stronger so they can burn more? Cuuuuuuuz it's true. Mabye it's just the inheriant desire of an athlete? But I'm sure not all athletes, active and non-active, would agree. Any way, I like it.

There were times today during the workout where we said out loud, "What?! One more set!?" hahaha Some of my reps were really wimpy. It was like I could barely get off the ground to jump in the air, but jump I did.

I'm pretty stiff tonight but I know I'm gettin somewhere so I'm excited. I really really miss my body being at a high fitness level so I'm glad I'm working towards that way and staying that way.

Day 1 in the books

I went to bed early last night but 6:30 am felt like it also came early. Oh wait. It did.

Today was the "Fitness Test." We did 8 different moves one minute each with about 1 - 1.5 minutes rest in between. That sounds easy. It's not. At all. I thought I was going to throw up after 9 minutes (the whole workout was i think like 40 minutes stretching included), mainly b/c i drank too much water right before we started. But I didn't. Although in my normal fashion I was sweating profusely. I sweat like a banchee already when I do "normal" workouts but this was like the flood gates opened. Completely dripping with sweat. I'll do a video tomorrow after our first full workout so you can get a visual of what its like after the work out is over. I think I'm going to like blogging about this. I've never blogged on a specific thing in my life like this before. This will be fun to look at later.

Test results (Day 1):
1. Switch Kicks: 100
2. Power Jacks: 31
3. Power Knees: 60
4. Power Jumps: 6 .... this was when i thought i was ganna thow up
5. Globe Jumps: 6
6. Suicide Jumps: 9
7. Push-Up Jacks: 10
8. Low Plank Oblique: 29

The next time we will do the fitness test is on day 15. I'm excited to see my progress.

We watched the work out we will do tomorrow as we were recovering. I don't particularly like suprises of this kind (as a matter of fact I watched the fitness test a couple days prior while eating my last potpie, ha) because I feel like I come in unprepared mentally.

Tomorrow: Plyometric Cardio Circuit.

Seriously, this workout program is insane.

The Calm Before the Storm

It's the night before I start the Insanity workout program. If you know me then you know I played softball (for 17 years) as well as other sports such as basketball, volleyball and track, although softball was my main sport. I started playing at 3 years old and ended when I was 20. For those 17 years I never had to make sure I was working out to stay fit because it was my life so I didn't have to work at it. Fitness was just intertwined into my every day life.

There are two types of athletes. The first group I like to call skathletes. Skathlete is a combination of two words, skinny and athlete. These are the people who get smaller after they stop playing their sport mostly because they aren't lifting weights anymore so they lose their muscle mass and get smaller. The second group of people are called fathletes. Fathlete is the combination of the two words fat and athlete. These are the people who get, well who cares about being PC, fat after they stop playing their sport.

Turns out, I'm a fathlete.

Now give me a break, I'm not saying that I'm gross and I'm disgusting and I don't like myself. No. I'm just sayin how it is. Keepin it real, son.

Recently I got over my fathleteness and started running (a dirty word to the majority of softball players) and lifing again because I really like being fit and in shape and the extra innertube around my waist just isn't cuttin it for me any more.

I'd run for a week and then stop then run some more a couple weeks after that. Always having to run on a tredmill because like I said, running is a dirty word. And that tredmill, man, if you turn it up real fast you gotta get boogin' or you will fall off. See, I made myself either run really really fast for 45 minutes or run uphill at 4.5 with a speed of 4.5 so I could make the workout harder. When all along, I was over whelmingly BORED. It was horrible. Torture. The only reason I did it was because I wanted to get fit again. Well, wrong answer to a girl who never really ran and was fit because all of her workouts consisted of plyometrics and sprinting to the point where I couldn't breath.

So I thought to myself, "I need to do something hard again and interactive. Ya know, moving around a lot with different sets. Kinda like a workout where I almost throw up and I'm crying at the end. I need to feel the burn. That's what I need. That won't be boring."

Now, I'm no chump. I don't just give into the gimics that people try and sell on the tv. Such as .... "Lose and inch off your waist in 2 days or your money back!" or "Just strap this here mashine on your abs and let it shake you while you sit on your butt at home and still eat crappy but shed the inches off in just a few days and have hard rock abs!" Oh.no. I'm into working really hard for a great result. I need a challege and I need to be pushed. Turns out I'm more challenged oriented than I thought.

So, I bought Insanity.

If you haven't heard of it, it's kind of like P90X but without the weights and a lot more cardio. If you don't know P90X ... well just google or youtube Insanity.

It really is an insane workout. I'm going to get beat up for about a week or so but that's only b/c I'm super out of shape.

I'm really excited to start this thing b/c I know how it feels to be in extremely good shape and feel really good. And I miss feeling really good so I won't mind getting beat up for a while to feel better and be fit and healthy. I won't be doing it alone either, thank you Jesus. I have 4 or 5 friends coming tomorrow and will prob be in and out of the workout sessions throughout the process. Doing it alone would be slightly boring and wrong. And besides I'll need someone else other than Shaun T to tell me to keep pushing. That's how I roll.

I will be bloging every day I workout, which is 6 days/week (Mon-Sat) until the program is over which is in 2 months. I won't stop the workout just because the program is over in 2 months, I'll just start over at the beginning and do it again. I will be tracking my results as well to see how I'm chaning and getting fit.

Soooooo here are my beginning numbers. No shame in my game, just being real.

Time to get some good rest for a 7am sharp work out! I'm so going to be beat up tomorrow.
